We stayed at the Adelaide River Hotel for four nights during our visit to Adelaide and South Australia. The hotel is very convenient and well located—only about six minutes from the city centre. You can also easily access the free tram service in Adelaide, which makes getting around very easy. Although it’s not right in the city centre, everything is very close and walkable if you enjoy walking. The location is excellent, close to the Royal Adelaide Hospital and the railway station. There is also a free tram right in front of the hotel, and it takes just two minutes to reach the city. Our stay was fabulous, and we really enjoyed the room and overall comfort of the hotel. The only minor issue was that there wasn’t enough milk provided—only a small number of milk cubes for the four-day stay. We didn’t request room service, but if we had asked, they may have replenished it. There also weren’t nearby places to easily buy milk or small items. The hotel has a 24-hour front desk, although we didn’t need to use it during our stay as we managed everything ourselves. Overall, I highly recommend the Adelaide River Hotel if you’re looking for a budget-friendly hotel with a good rating, great location, and easy access to the city.

Some rooms are newly renovated, some are a bit older. Staff is friendly, and will help out if you need extra blankets/towels/etc. Great location, easy to walk to anywhere in the CBD from here!

Attended a gig at the nearby bar n Hindley Street and this place was perfect. Walking distance from the Adelaide Airport Bus Stop on Currie Street so access from the airport to the hotel is perfect. Plenty of eateries, bars, cafes, convenience stores are nearby as well along with other attractions such as Adelaide Oval and Rundle Mall. The hotel rooms are modern, practical and clean. Hotel reception are courteous and professional. Highly recommended.

- Room was sparkling clean. Thankyou to housekeeping. - Towels, coffee and tea in the room without asking. Most places won't give you anything without asking. - TV and desk in the room. - 24 hour reception for peace of mind.

Amazing service. The male staff member upgraded us to a spa room and arranged early check‑in. Super friendly, efficient, and helpful. The hotel feels very well organised and made our stay easy.

Disheartened to see all the bad reviews on here. Our experience was lovely. I called ahead after booking online to confirm they'd take my ID and payment options (they would!). We were put on the first floor near the lift. Yes there are only coffee cups, no glasses, bowls, plates or utensils (other than a bamboo utensil pack) but if you just need somewhere for the night this will do the job. Great location. Friendly staff. Short walk to the RAH or the free city tram, train station and various buses as well as to Hindley Street. There are several convenience stores nearby including OTR on West Tce and North Terrace and 2 additional convenience stores in the Bank Street area near the Adelaide Railway Station tram stop. There's also Zambreros, Maccas and other food options along Hindley Street.

I stayed 3 nights. The location is great on North Terrace near the hospital and City West free tram stops. I got a room upgrade that put me into a spacious, well-appointed Queen room with a balcony, spa bath and two lounges. All very clean and very comfortable. The staff were excellent and the room rates in winter are a bargain. Not a single nit-pick but all compliments. Oh and try Peter Rabbit garden cafe close by for a pleasurable experience

The receptionist didn't check who I was and didn't disclose the hotel room number when I told her that my partner has already checked in and I had paid for the hotel room. They don't provide a spare key when 2 adults are staying in 1 room. …
